True Taste of Abu Dhabi
Being an expat in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates has many advantages, especially eating out. There are so many restaurants available from Chinese, Afghanistan, Lebanese, Moroccan, African; Indian the list is endless.
Every restaurant ranges from low to high prices. The choice and preference are entirely up to your taste buds and budget.
Abu Dhabi is famous for their annual Taste of Abu Dhabi exhibition showcasing the finest Chef, cooking styles and restaurants. Tickets are usually purchased online and the weekend event is renowned for many who love food.
I think the True taste of Abu Dhabi is the multitude of street food restaurants tucked in the corners and in between the high rise buildings. These restaurants do not get enough exposure or credit. If you visiting Abu Dhabi, it’s a must to eat at these places. You will not be disappointed. My email is available, contact me if you need a recommendation.
Abu Dhabi Street foods
Sea Shell is a popular favorite for those on a budget and enjoys having a variety to choose from. If you are searching for a delicious fruit cocktail, this is the place to go to. They have been around since Abu Dhabi was just a little town.
Lebanese Flower & Bakery is my favorite Arabic informal dining. For a quick bite, I recommend the famous chicken or meat Shwarama. When I want a quick meal, I usually order 5dhs falafel, about just under 2 dollars, which is a lot for one person and 1 Dhs,( which is dirt cheap) Samoen, local rolls. These rolls, strangely enough, are not available everywhere. The local bakeries are known for baking them daily, and locals buy bags of them — a simple bread that is soft and eaten with Falafel, pickles and Tahini sauce, yummy or anything with it is perfect in your mouth.
Zatar and Cheese Manaish is another favorite of mine; I have it almost every other week. An entire meal costs less than 3 dollars and is packed with flavor.
Roasted Chicken- Another favorite. If you walk along the streets of Abu Dhabi, it is impossible not to spot the Chicken Rotisseries, served with pickles and French fries it’s an unforgettable meal.
There are many more places that are equally good. A visit to Abu Dhabi to explore these hidden places will take your taste buds on an unforgettable journey.
