I dedicate this post to all those seeking peace of mind!
This is a topic very near and dear to me. It’s a discussion that barely gets spoke of. I don’t think people think much about whether or not they living in mental peace.
There is so much noise in the world. How can it be possible to find a quiet moment in your head to think clearly about mental issues?
The mind! What an invaluable and precious resource to the human psyche.
Our thoughts believe values morals and opinions all come from what we think about.
How do we choose to develop our minds?
Who we are and who we choose to become can be influenced by our associations and interactions with the world around us. When you surround yourself with great thinkers and change-makers you will find yourself thinking along the same lines but when you surround yourself with mindless nonsense you will not develop your mind but instead add to the noise that currently exists within you.
Many years ago when I was in my very early twenties I asked someone a question. A question that at the time I had no idea would add to the foundation of my soul and who I am today. Maybe I couldn’t stand the silence of being alone with this person or perhaps being a chatty person I needed to talk. I had no idea what the response would be. I was too young and too naïve to understand the weight of my question. But the person who I was asking was much older than me.
If you could have one thing in this world what would it be?
The answer I received was an indirect gift to me. The person whom I asked did not fully understand that his answer would take me on an endless journey to discover how to live my best life.
Peace of mind!
What do you mean I asked? I was not expecting such a simple yet empowering answer. I want to sleep at night knowing that I have peace in my life.
Years later I realized the importance of asking the right questions. When you able to sit with yourself and surround yourself with quietness it is then that you can think about your life.
Some might do this in meditation and prayers.
It is important to give yourself space to think
What gives you inner peace?
Life is so dynamic. What works for one person might be of no use for another person. We all unique and different yet there seems to be a trend amongst people.
What is this trend? We work and pay bills! Do we work to survive? We have the same or similar routines as our neighbors! We talk about the same problems and complain about the same things as our friends and neighbors.
Are you different?
Are you seeking a reality that exists beyond the one you currently living in?
My blog was never meant to be a casual read. This platform I’ve created is to provide a space for people to discover the truth about themselves.
What is stopping you from living peacefully?
- We often associate peace with war. Why would we direct the word peace and war to ourselves?
- If I am not at peace with myself then I must be at war right? So are you at war with yourself?
- Are you the person holding you back from living a peaceful life?
- What can you do to change the noise in your life to blissful peace?
I remember after I left that person and went home I couldn’t stop wondering what he truly meant by having peace in life.
I guess I had to go on my journey in life to discover the importance of that question.
“Set peace of mind as your highest goal and organize your life around it”
Quoted from Brian Tracy
How can I get peace of mind?
The answer lies within you!
No one can tell you the answers to your life! No one has the power to know what will work or will not work for you!
What we believe in has become a personal choice. My words are not meant to influence your way of thinking but are meant to guide and facilitate you to self-awareness.
- Organize your thoughts
No one feels comfortable in a chaotic and messy space. When your home feels cluttered you will do something to clean it up. Treat your mind the same way. When we have problems and issues learn to organize them and deal with it from the least problematic to the biggest problem. When we incorporate good habits into our lives it becomes easier to deal with life issues.
- Talk to someone
You not alone. It might feel like you are and you might convince yourself that you have no one who you can talk to but be truthful. There has to be someone willing to listen to you.
- Let go of things you cannot control
Sometimes we just have to move on as quickly as we can. There are things in the world that are not worth thinking about. Move on and let it be. Tomorrow is always the beginning of a new day!
- Remember to breath
No matter what is happening in your life take a moment to exhale. How often do we do this? Our very existence depends on a single breath yet we forget to bring awareness to it. Take a moment to take a deep breath!
- Live in gratitude
No matter what you going through there is always someone worse of. That’s just the way life is. Be thankful for what you have and remember those people who aren’t as blessed as you. Look around you and live in gratitude.
- Pay it forward
When someone is good to you remember to pay it forward. Create a life of blessing. When you do good deeds you will feel at peace. When helping others we create a feeling of happiness inside us.
- Control your thoughts
When you feel overwhelmed find something to distract you. Make sure you develop positive habits. Go for a walk or read a book. The options are endless but you have to do something that will make you feel like you in control.
Life is not perfect!
Is it possible to live in complete peace? The answer is completely personal but we owe ourselves to at least try!
Peace be with you!
