Running Goals
While everyone was still asleep, thousands of runners from all walks of life put on their running shoes and prepared themselves mentally to take on the Dubai marathon.
Running a marathon requires physical and mental strength.
Many participants opted for the 4 km run to motivate themselves towards their own running goals and prepare them for the 10km next year 2020. The day was brought success for everyone who participated, cheered and supported.
The event was aimed to get people moving, and it certainly did. Participating in the Dubai Marathon was a dream come true for many participants.
It was inspiring to see families running together, friends supporting each other and strangers pushing each other to get to the finish line. What was the most inspiring to me was seeing young kids participating in the 10km run? These are the future athletes of their nation. The cycle of health and fitness starts with them.
I was there amidst all the action, joining the Pink lady apple team to promote health and fitness. Wearing the pink lady T-shirt, we ran the 4km run with pride and glory.
The marathon began at 6 am, 25th January 2019, for wheelchair, and Elite athletes and 7 am for the masses. Participants were excited to wear the Adidas brand T-shirt and the finish medal at the end of the run.
Just like the Pink lady apples, every participant that trained so hard for the Dubai Marathon is unique and beautiful. We all have our own running goals, different running paces, and mental challenges but on the day of the marathon we draw strength from each other, and we become inspired by the runners next to us.
Thank you to the supporters and spectators who have taken time to come out on the day to cheer us on.
When we reached the finish line and victory is ours to celebrate . All the runners feel the same. Empowered! A Goal has been achieved!
At the end of the finish line waiting for all runners is a delicious crisp pink lady apple. The delicious sweet taste brings your aching bones back to life and re-energizes your soul.
