I was recently invited to experience the Balance Marathon at The Room in Abu Dhabi at Zayed Sports City.
I knew that there would be different classes as I had to register before attending. What I enjoyed the most was how well the free event was organized and the electrifying atmosphere in The Room!
As a UAE expat, I am always eager to attend community events and meet new people. I particularly enjoy fitness activities. My health & wellbeing is vital to me and being an active participant in any health and fitness program hosted by the numerous fitness clubs in Abu Dhabi inspires me to encourage other Expats to make the time to attend.
What is the Balance Marathon?
Taking part in as many classes as you possibly can during the evening. You have an opportunity to find out what workout works best for you.

I will admit I was able to register for two class only and the Healthy Eating Seminar.
My take away for the evening was the information and motivation I received during the Healthy Eating Seminar. There is nothing more satisfying to me than engaging in informative and inspirational conversation.
If you want to achieve long term weight loss, you need to think differently about your eating habits.
Attending a Healthy Eating Seminar is the first step towards committing to losing your weight and maintaining weight loss.
Very often people think going to the gym will create the lifestyle changes you need in your life! Yes, it will definitely and I am a great supporter of those who are keeping active. But what happens when life happens, and you can’t make it to the gym as often as you like?
If you start your health and fitness lifestyle journey with the right mindset, you will stay on track regardless of the obstacles that life will throw on your path.
As a lifestyle coach, I know the importance of a strong and healthy mindset. When I met Mim Kleiberg, and discovered that she was a health coach, I just had to write this post!
What is a Health Coach?
I never knew about health coaching until I went to The Room and engaged in a healthy eating seminar with Mim Kleiberg. As a coach, I could hear the powerful questions she was asking us, and I sensed that there was more to the Seminar than just informing us on healthy eating habits.
I was intrigued that perhaps we are approaching weight loss from the wrong angle. Maybe we need to consult with an Expert to help us understand why trying to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle is so challenging and perhaps difficult for some of us.
When we sick we often have to seek advice and care from a specialist before we can start feeling like our usual self again. We are so aware of the list of Physician names and Experts who can support us in life.
We often don’t know where to start when we want to lose weight and maintain a healthy and positive wellbeing.
We might even join a gym hoping that it will motivate us to create the routine we desperately need in our lives. Maybe some of us are successful and this works.
What about the rest of us that are struggling with weight loss and cannot find the time to get to the gym or maybe joining the right gym is very expensive. Finding a balance in your life can be challenging without the right support.
Do you need a Health Coach?
A health coach can help people figure out what their personal and health issues are and together develop strategies to overcome them. If you want to sleep better, reduce stress in your life or stop yourself from eating emotionally, whatever is preventing you from achieving positive well-being, a health coach can help and support you.
You will feel like you on the right journey, and there is someone with you to challenge, support and guide you all the way.
The primary goal of a health coach is to help you achieve your health goals through lifestyle and behavior modifications. Health coaches are there to listen and help you reflect on your journey to achieve your desired goals.
The next time you are on the scale and you not happy with the results. Consider seeking support from a Health Coach. Maybe the numbers on the scale won’t matter when you begin your true journey to losing weight and keeping it off.
I encourage all Expats to go out and participate in community events. You will never know when the right education and information will come your way. We should remember that the internet is an excellent source of information, but it is not the only resource we need in our lives. We need to talk more and engage with people who can motivate and inspire us.
